You know that line from the movie “Jerry Maguire” – “You had me at hello.”
Well, she had me at “Fiction is all about an emotional journey.” It is exactly what I strive for in my writing – to feel something over the course of a story, and usually that emotional attachment comes from your main character overcoming a challenge or conflict. I agree that this short talk, although directed towards the romance genre, is applicable anywhere and everywhere.
