Ha! Often, when I try to fix someone’s computer and the first two or three things don’t work, I look at them and say “aren’t you glad I’m not your surgeon?” This is so true.
Brilliant! I don’t know WHY people think their prose should come out on the first try like their favorite novels. Writing is all about rewriting, edit, revising…sticking with it until it shines.
It sure takes a lot of unnecessary pressure off yourself when you recognize this advice, and then more importantly – follow it. This is something I struggle with a lot, but am getting a little more comfortable with it 😉
